Here is our weekly update of events and information for Greystone Centennial Middle School.
Fee Statements
Our office sent out statements for any fees that have not been paid via email last week. If you did not receive yours, please check your SPAM folder in your email. You can always see current fees on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please contact the office with any questions.
Report Cards Available June 29th at 4:00 pm
Report Cards will be available at the end of the last day of school via PowerSchool. If you would like a paper copy, please contact the office and we will send it home with students on the last day of school or email it to you directly.
Summer Office Closure
The school office will close for the summer on July 1st and reopen on August 22. If you need assistance over the summer, the greystone@psd.ca email is monitored periodically. You can also contact the Parkland School Division Centre for Education with any emergent issues.
Student Recognition Assembly
On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, we will be holding our Year-End/Student Recognition Assembly. It will be held from 9:15-10:30 am. If your child is being recognized, you will have received an email. Can’t make it? No worries - it will also be on FB live, and recorded for future viewing. Follow the link https://www.facebook.com/events/432386732082444/ This is our first GCMS awards assembly, so there may be some bumps along the way, thank you for your support as we figure it out!
You can not park in the transfer site until our buses have left at approximately 9:00 am. Please do not enter the transfer site if there are buses.
Parking on June 28th
Our grade 9 Farewell ceremony will take place in the afternoon of June 28th. As we will have many parents joining us, we anticipate the parking lot being very congested. Add to this the ongoing construction along Greystone Drive and we have a recipe for slow traffic on that day. It is important that no one parks in the bus transfer site, as we have buses through this area from 2:35pm onward. Please be aware and patient.
National Indigenous History Month
June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, and we recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. These are great opportunities to acknowledge Indigenous Peoples, to learn about their histories, cultures, and ways of life.

Online Safety Parent Webinar
On June 28 at 7:00 pm, you are invited to take part in a webinar on Online Safety for Parents. This evening is being planned by the École Broxton Park School and Parkland Village School Parent Councils. Click here to register for the session (the link does not get you into the presentation).
Greystone Library Learning Commons
Take a look in backpacks and under beds for any outstanding library books. Mrs. Marshall will be working hard in the next few weeks to get all library books returned.
Lost and Found
Please ask your child to check the lost and found tables in the hallway as well as the boot rooms for any items that belong to them that they may have misplaced. These items will be donated at the end of the week.
Stronger Together Newsletter - Summer Newsletter
Having fun together and doing things together helps you to build a strong relationship with your children and helps create great memories. Simple things like family movie nights, going on a hike, special family recipes you cook together or even a special holiday tradition create strong bonds and a sense of security for your kids. Write-On Stationery
Write-On Stationery ordering is now open until July 15. If the school shipping option is chosen, orders will arrive the week of Aug 22 (with pick up tentatively Aug 24/25 from 9-2 each day). All orders are placed either online or by calling Write On directly.
