Here is our weekly update of events and information for Greystone Centennial Middle School.
Greystone Track & Field Day - Date Change
The local athletics association has changed the date of the Zone track meet, so we need to move our School Track & Field day as well. The new date is Tuesday, May 14th.
There will be more details shared on this event in next week’s Inferno News.
We need your help to run our Track Day Concession. All proceeds go to our School Foundation (FOGS). If you can help for a portion of the day, please sign up here.
Cell Phone Policy Review
Thank you for your feedback on cell phones and other technological distractions! We have used it to create an update to our cell phone and technology policy. You can read the full policy here.
The main points of our new cell phone and technology policy are as follows:
- Cell phones should be kept in lockers during school hours including recess and lunch.
- Students will have 3 periods of 2 minutes per day to check their cell phones and respond to important messages.
- Students caught in violation of this rule will have their cell phones confiscated for the day.
- Any other technology that is being used as a distraction from school work will be confiscated for the day.
- Students will still be reachable at any time by calling the office.
To help with the transition to this new rule, teachers will be reviewing the new policy with all students this coming week. The policy will go into full effect as of June 1st.
Try-Me Try-Athlon
Online registration for the 8th Annual Try-Me Try-Athlon opens on May 10. This is a great event that promotes healthy physical activity. For more information, visit the Try-Athlon Website.

Yearbooks will be delivered to GCMS in the fall, and will be distributed once they arrive. Students moving onto other endeavors, we can arrange pick-up at the school once they have arrived.
Last Call - Casino
We have a few remaining shifts that need to be filled for our upcoming Casino. If you can help us on June 7 & 8, please contact fogsfriendsofgreystonesociety@gmail.com. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Calahoo Meats Fundraiser
Order your Calahoo Meat from May 1 to May 22, 2024. Orders will be accepted using the paper order forms that were distributed or online. Orders need to be in and paid for by May 22, 2024 at 4:00pm. NO LATE ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Delivery/pick up will be on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Greystone. Time TBA. Orders must be picked up that day as we cannot store frozen items.
School Council & FOGS
Our next School Council & FOGS meeting is Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:30 at the school. It is our last council meeting of the year. We need some people to fill roles in the executive council. If you can help out, please contact the Council at fogsfriendsofgreystonesociety@gmail.com
