February 28: Inferno Weekly Update

Here is our weekly update of events and information for Greystone Centennial Middle School.

COVID Reporting

The number of COVID cases reported to the school is updated on our website each Friday. We continue to request that families let us know if a student tests positive for COVID, as we rely on self-reporting for these numbers. Thank you for your support.

2021-2022 Alberta Education Assurance Survey

Each year Alberta Education provides a survey to students in grades 4, 7 & 10, parents of those students, and teachers to gather feedback on the quality of education that students are receiving. Our GCMS Grade 7 teachers, students, and all staff will be completing this survey. If you are a Grade 7 parent you will be receiving a random access code to complete the parent survey online. https://public.education.alberta.ca/APOS/ . You can learn more about this survey on the Alberta Education Website. In addition, you can view examples of the parent questionnaire with this link and examples of the student questionnaire with this link

MADD Presentations (Gr. 7-9)

GCMS will be hosting a MADD Canada Presentation of the movie Wrong Turn for our Grade 7-9 students.  This presentation will be virtual and take place in homeroom classrooms. The film being shown this year is called Over the Edge. This is a fictional story that portrays different high-risk scenarios that youth are likely to face. The story shows how certain actions have terrible and sometimes deadly consequences. The second half of the movie contains real testimonials from victims/survivors of impaired driving.
