Here is our weekly update of events and information for Greystone Centennial Middle School. 

PAT Reminder - Dates and Weights

This was sent out earlier this year, but just a reminder that PSD as a whole has shifted to grade 6 and 9 PATs being compulsory and will be worth 10% of the final grade for grade 6 exams and 20% for grade 9 exams. Grade 6 science is a new curriculum and the province has decided to not complete the PAT for this subject. The dates are as follows:

Thankful Lunch

Mrs. Kennedy and Ms. Putt, along with the Foods CTF class hosted a wonderful Thankful lunch for our staff and other PSD staff member who contribute to our school! Thank you to all that helped out

Greystone Grade 9 Group Heads to Quebec City Next Week

On January 29th, 30 Grade 9 students will embark on an exciting week-long student exchange program to Quebec City! Our students will be staying in Lévis, a city just outside of Quebec City, where they will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in French Canadian culture and build lasting friendships. We are incredibly excited for this wonderful opportunity for our students to experience a unique cultural exchange.

STEAM Project in the Library Next Week

The library classes next week will be working on a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) project next week!

Hot Chocolate Fundraiser- Tour Choir

Our Tour Choir will be doing another hot chocolate fundraiser on Monday, Jan 27th during lunchtime at Greystone. Regular hot chocolate will cost $2.00 and fancy hot chocolate will cost $2.50. Thank you for your constant support of our music program.

Get Your Greystone Inferno Gear - repeat

FOGS has teamed up with Sportfactor to offer an online store with a variety of items to choose from including t-shirts, long sleeved shirts, toques, pants and backpacks. Here is the link https://greystone2025.itemorder.com/. It closes on Thursday January 30th with delivery to the school in early March.

Boston Pizza Fundraiser - repeat

FOGS has also started a campaign with Boston Pizza called Operation Education. All receipts from January 1st until the last day of school can be submitted to the office and the school will get a rebate of 5% from it. So all family and friends that eat at BPs can submit their receipt, it has to be the original receipt (no photocopies) and cannot include buying gift cards or alcohol.

Scholastic - repeat

Books with is the theme for Scholastic book orders Feb 13 for free shipping to the school.
