Inferno News: May 16, 2025

Here is this week's edition of Inferno News.

Inferno Theatre Makes History at One-Act Festival!

We’re thrilled to share that Reflections, this year’s original one-act play by Inferno Theatre, brought home four awards—including Best Play Overall—at the festival! This is the first time ever Inferno Theatre has won the top prize, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Driven entirely by our talented Grade 8 & 9 cast and crew, Reflections also earned Honourable Mention for Best Set, the Outstanding Acting Award (Adrian Gregoraschuk), and the Outstanding Award (Rebecca Marshall—her second year in a row!).

Huge thanks to alumni playwright Joshua Sykes, our dedicated carpenters Mr. Wahlen, Mr. Arndt, and Mr. Sykes, and our passionate directors Ms. Johnson and Josh Sykes. We also want to thank Mrs. Putt for her support and supervision throughout the process.

Congratulations to everyone involved—what an incredible achievement!

Greystone Track Day

We had a fantastic track and field day, filled with incredible displays of athleticism and school spirit! We are sending over 130 students to represent Greystone at the Zone track meet in Stony Plain on Wednesday, May 21st. This significant number of students advancing is a testament to their hard work. Good luck to all of our athletes on their success and wishing them the very best as they head to Zones! We know they will represent Greystone with pride.

Thank you to all volunteers who helped support our concession!

Senior Choir at Provincials!

On Friday, May 23rd, our Senior Choir (Grades 7-9) will be heading to Choral Provincials to compete. If you plan to attend the event, tickets will be available at the door for $5.00. Mrs. Putt is also seeking parent volunteers to help with the event. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to her.

Millstone Archery Wraps up Another Amazing Season!

The Archery Season came to an end this past weekend on a high note at Nationals in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Our Senior High team finished 5th in a highly competitive division where they narrowly missed out on the podium. The Middle School and Elementary Teams both won 10/15 target and 3-D championships. We are so proud of the dedication that the archers have put towards this amazing program. Millstone ran the largest team in Canada with around 200 archers practicing weekly and shooting at tournaments.

It has been an amazing year with wins at local tournaments and both Provincials and Nationals. This would not be possible without the support of families and ALL our Volunteers on a weekly basis for these past 5 months!! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED OUT THIS YEAR!!
