Fee Reminders

Just a reminder to families to please make sure that applied fees are paid, especially for options and extracurriculars that have already been completed. If you require assistance or need to discuss these further, please contact the office. 

Yearbook Photos

We have posted a number of yearbook photos of clubs and teams but needed to change a few. Please share with your child if they are affected:

• Badminton - May 12
• Archery/Soccer - May 15
• All photos will take place during the second half of lunch

Summer School Opportunity for Grades 1-7

Parkland School Division is excited to offer a Summer School program at CFL Stony Campus (4300 43rd Street, Stony Plain) from June 30 to July 11 (excluding July 1st & weekends). This program combines enriching literacy and numeracy activities in the mornings with engaging health and wellness activities in the afternoons.

For students entering Grades 1-7 in the 2025-2026 school year, the cost is $375 for the nine-day program, running daily from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Staffing Office Change - Finance - repeat

Mrs. Robinson will be Greystone's Acting Head Secretary for the remainder of the year. Please reach out to her in the office if you require assistance regarding payments or have questions about fees or PowerSchool.

Spring League Basketball - repeat

Greystone's Spring League Basketball is back for grades 4-6 and some grade 7 students. Please find the details and registration form here. The cost is $40.

Archery Update - repeat

Millstone Archers have 1 more week of practice as they get ready for Archery Nationals in Wetaskiwin May 10th! Our teams look forward to continuing to shoot well as they have had all year. We are very proud of their accomplishments this year. Keep it up and Hit that Bullseye!!

Write On Stationary - Deadline Approaching - repeat

Write on Stationary is ready for parents to order school supplies for next year. We have made it so parents only need to select what they want to order and not have to order the whole package! Deadline is June 1 and delivery is the third week in June or at home.

Bike Maintenance and Repair CTF Class Accepting Bike Donation - repeat

Mr. Wahlen is looking for donations of used bicycles for our new CTF class that focuses on bike maintenance and repair. Please reach out to jan.wahlen@psd.ca to arrange a drop off.

Looking for Volunteers - repeat

FOGS is looking for volunteers to help with the Zone Track Meet Concession at Westview School on May 21. This is an amazing opportunity but we need multiple volunteers to make it happen. Please contact Chantelle at 780-962-4754 for more information or to sign up.

2025-26 Class Requests - repeat
If you are wanting to make a class request for next year, please complete the 2025-26 Class Request Form before Thursday, May 15.  Please complete 1 form per child - if you are making requests for multiple children you will need to complete multiple forms.  This is the only way your requests will be documented/tracked/considered, and is therefore, the only way to ensure you are able to share pertinent information about your child for next school year. 

Please note that putting in a request does not guarantee your request will be honoured.  There are a number of factors that contribute to the creation of class lists include, but are not limited to:

• Balancing Class Size
• Balancing class dynamics, including academics and behavior
• Balancing gender wherever possible
• Ensuring adequate support where it is required, as this at times require clustering similar levels of need
• Separating some students who cannot be together or who do not work well together
• Trying to ensure that each student has a minimum of one social connection in their homeroom. This does not mean that they will be with their closest peers.

In the end, the above factors will weigh heavily on each individual student's placement, and will impact whether or not your specific request will be put in place for the 2025-26 school year. 

Requests that will not be considered include, but are not limited to:

• Specific teacher requests (including gender, style, culture, race or preference)
• Requests to be with specific friends or groups of friends
  (there will be a place to indicate positive peer relations that we should be aware of - but there is no guarantee your child will be placed with these people)
• Requests to not be with specific students based on like or dislike for that student
  (there will be a place to indicate negative/conflictual peer relations that we should be aware of - but, again, there is no guarantee your child will be separated from these people)

Thank you for sharing information about your child as we look to set up for the 2025-26 school year. Class lists will be available on powerschool late in August, shortly before school begins for students. 

Grade 4 Transition Dates - repeat

As we begin looking to next year, here are some important dates to keep in mind:

Monday, May 12: GCMS Administration Visit Grade 4 Students @ Millgrove School (AM)

Thursday, May 22: Inferno Day (Grade 4 Students Visit GCMS) 9:30-11:30 AM

On Thursday, May 22, Millgrove students will be arriving by bus - they should arrive at school as they regularly would that day.

Hot Lunch Update - repeat

Below you will find the schedule for hot lunch this year.  This schedule can also be found on the GCMS website.  If you do not yet have a hot lunch account please see this document for instructions on how to get set up. 

Yearbook info for 2024-2025 - repeat
Order your yearbook now! Yearbooks will arrive in the fall!  Current Grade 9 students will be contacted when their yearbook is ready for pick-up.
