Report Cards Available
Term 2 report cards are now available through PowerSchool or by contacting the office.
Spring Break and PD Day
Our Spring Break is this coming week (Mar. 21-25). There will be a one-day extension of the break for students, as Monday, March 28th is a PD Day for teachers. School resumes on Tuesday, March 29th.
COVID Reporting
Schools in Parkland School Division are no longer reporting COVID cases. We continue to request that families let us know if a student tests positive for COVID. Thank you for your support.
2021-2022 Alberta Education Assurance Survey
Each year Alberta Education provides a survey to students in grades 4, 7 & 10, parents of those students, and teachers to gather feedback on the quality of education that students are receiving. Our GCMS Grade 7 teachers, students, and all staff will be completing this survey. If you are a Grade 7 parent you will be receiving a random access code to complete the parent survey online. https://public.education.
GCSM Parent/Guardian and Student Survey
All parents/guardians as well as all students are invited to complete our GCMS survey. An email was sent to all parents with permission to receive School Messenger emails. This survey has very similar questions to the Alberta Education Assurance survey. It also has questions about next year’s parent-teacher conferences. We value your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to complete this.
Hot Lunch - April
Ordering for February Hot Lunch will be open Mar. 16 - 23 at https://greystone.hotlunches.
The schedule of suppliers for the month is:
- Friday, April 1 - Jack’s Drive-In
- Friday, April 8 - Dairy Queen
- Thursday, April 14 - Pizza 73
- Friday, April 22 - KFC
- Friday, April 29 - Subway
Volunteers Needed
Are you looking for a way to get involved in the school? The school council and foundation is currently looking for people to help with 2 positions.
- Hot Lunch Volunteers - We are looking for people to help distribute the hot lunches. This usually takes place on Fridays.
- Grant Writers - We are looking for people to help write grants that would increase the funding for projects we undertake at the school.

Purdy’s Fundraiser
Purdy’s Easter Fundraiser is open now online through Friday, March 25. Flyers with ordering information should have come home this past week. The top 3 sellers will receive a prize. Little Caesars Fundraiser
Little Caesars ordering will begin Mar 7 - Apr 11. Only Online orders will be accepted. The order form is for reference only. No cash payments will be accepted at the office. Delivery will be the week of April 25. Exact Date/Time TBA. Orders are frozen so will need to be picked up the day they arrive. The top seller will receive a free pepperoni pizza kit and the 3 runners up will receive prizes as well.
