March 7: Inferno Weekly Update

Here is our weekly update of events and information for Greystone Centennial Middle School.

Relaxation of COVID Health Measures

As of March 1, Alberta entered into the next phase of easing public health measures around COVID. The main changes for our school are as follows:

  • Masks are no longer required for anyone entering the building.
  • Isolation and Quarantine requirements are still in place. This means students and staff who have tested positive for COVID or have COVID symptoms must legally isolate themselves.
  • Capacity limits for spectators have been returned to previous Fire Code numbers.

For more information on the relaxation of measures, please refer to the PSD website.

COVID Reporting

The number of COVID cases reported to the school is updated on our website each Friday. We continue to request that families let us know if a student tests positive for COVID, as we rely on self-reporting for these numbers. Thank you for your support.

2021-2022 Alberta Education Assurance Survey

Each year Alberta Education provides a survey to students in grades 4, 7 & 10, parents of those students, and teachers to gather feedback on the quality of education that students are receiving. Our GCMS Grade 7 teachers, students, and all staff will be completing this survey. If you are a Grade 7 parent you will be receiving a random access code to complete the parent survey online. https://public.education.alberta.ca/APOS/ . You can learn more about this survey on the Alberta Education Website. In addition, you can view examples of the parent questionnaire with this link and examples of the student questionnaire with this link

GCMS Parent/Guardian and Student Survey

All parents/guardians as well as all students are invited to complete our GCMS survey. An email was sent to all parents with permission to receive School Messenger emails. This survey has very similar questions to the Alberta Education Assurance survey. It also has questions about next year’s parent-teacher conferences. We value your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to complete this.
