Nov. 1: Inferno Weekly Update

Inferno News Nov. 1-5

Here is our weekly update on what is happening at Greystone.

COVID-19 Information

Greystone currently does not have any status under the COVID-19 school status system. For further information on the provincial classification system, visit the COVID-19 school status website.

Immunization Information

The AHS Public Health office has been receiving many inquiries from parents regarding catch-up immunizations for Gr. 7 and Gr. 8 students who did not get to complete their Gr. 6 immunizations.  Here is a document that summarizes the immunization program for Gr. 6 to Gr. 9. In it, you will find answers to many of the frequently asked questions.

AHS will be coming to do the “regular” vaccinations with grade 6 students on Nov. 18.

Volunteer Paperwork

If you are interested in volunteering this year, we require anyone putting in over 10 hours to complete some important paperwork which includes a criminal record check. If you are interested in future opportunities, please contact the office.

Kiwi Nursery Fundraiser

The Kiwi Nurseries Fundraiser runs from Oct. 29 - Nov. 20. During the order period, please visit https://fundraising.kiwinurseries.com/ and select Friends of Greystone School. There will be a selection of plants, ornaments, cards, and decor items to buy. FOGS will receive a percentage of the sales. Orders are picked up at Kiwi Nurseries when they arrive. For more information, please see the flyer.

Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser

Our Purdy’s Chocolate catalogs are coming home this week. Look inside for the selection of delicious treats just in time for the Holiday season. The order period is Nov. 1 - 29. The information flyer can be found here.

Kinette Hamper Program

Greystone will again be taking part in the Kinette Hamper program this year. For the 48th year, the Spruce Grove Kinette volunteers are working to make Christmas brighter for local families struggling with a limited income. Their goal is to support families in need with food and gifts for the holidays and last year they assisted 580 families in our area, and supported close to 1900 residents!

Until Dec. 10, we will be accepting:

  • Monetary donations or local grocery store gift cards for food hampers.
  • Gift cards or new, unwrapped gifts for children 17 and under.
