December 13: Inferno Weekly Update

Here is our weekly update of events and information for Greystone Centennial Middle School.

COVID-19 Information

Greystone currently does not have any status under the COVID-19 school status system. For further information on the provincial classification system, visit the COVID-19 school status website.

Community Classroom

Community Classroom is a program that runs weekly in our Library Commons. In the Community Classroom, students get the opportunity to learn and build skills in the areas of leadership, prosocial skill development, creativity, and teamwork. Students build confidence through intentional goal setting, game playing, team building activities, LEGO, and art activities. These activities are facilitated by the school staff based on student needs and interests. Students are recommended to the program by staff or parents. For more information, please contact the school office.

Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser Delivery

Pickup of Purdy’s orders is scheduled for Wednesday, December 15 from 3:45-5:30 at the school.

January Hot Lunch Ordering

January hot lunch ordering is open from Dec 15 to Dec 22 at https://greystone.hotlunches.net. Use the school access code: GCHL. You will need to create a user ID/account to order with payments made via PayPal.

The menu for January is:

  • January 14: KFC - popcorn chicken, 1 piece chicken, and 2 piece chicken
  • January 21: Pizza 73 - cheese, Hawaiian, pepperoni (available in gluten-free as well)
  • January 28: Jack's Drive-In - hot dogs and chocolate or vanilla ice cream cups

And a huge thank you to the parents who have volunteered to hand out hot lunches. Without parent volunteers, the hot lunch program would not be possible.

Kinette Hamper Program

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Kinette Christmas Donation drive. The Kinettes help over 500 families a year with this program.

Snowed In - Online Holiday Celebration

This year, we will be holding our Snowed In event online. We will share the video production in the week before the Winter break. It will include some musical performances by some students and other holiday cheer. We hope next year to be able to welcome you back to the school for a great evening.

Stronger Together Newsletter

This month’s focus is gratitude. Sometimes it is tough to feel gratitude in stressful situations such as holidays. To help out we have included lots of great suggestions and community activities for you and your family.
