Here is our weekly update of events and information for Greystone Centennial Middle School.
May Long Weekend - No School Friday & Monday
The May Long Weekend is upon us. That means that this Friday (May 20th) is a PD Day and Monday (May 23rd) is the holiday. There is no school for students these days.
A reminder that originally our School Calendar showed Thursday, May 19th as a PD Day. This was changed in September, as we recognized the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. There is school on Thursday, May 19th.
School Council & FOGS Meeting/AGM
We need you! Without our families taking positions on our School Council Executive, we are at risk of losing our council and fundraising society. Please consider joining us at our next meeting on Tuesday, May 17th either online or in person at 6:30 pm. The agendas and minutes for the meeting can be found on the School Council section of our website.

Hot Lunch - June
Ordering for June Hot Lunch will be open May 18-25 at https://greystone.hotlunches.
The schedule of suppliers for the month is:
- Friday, June 3: Bite to Eat - pancakes and breakfast sausage
- Friday, June 10: Jack's Drive-In - hot dogs and ice cream
- Friday, June 17: Pizza 73 - pepperoni, cheese, Hawaiian
- Friday, June 24: KFC - popcorn chicken, 1 or 2 piece
Try-Me Try-Athlon
PSD is putting on their Try-Me Try-Athlon again this year on June 3rd. All PSD students are invited to participate. It will be located at the Stony Plain Outdoor Pool and Stony Plain Central School. For more information and to register, please visit the Try-Me Try-Athlon website.
Track Meet - Thank You
A big thank you on behalf of the school and School Council/FOGS to everyone who made our Track Meet and Concession a huge success.
We were helped out by some local businesses. M&M Foods, Sandyview Farms, and Sobeys (Spruce Grove) all gave the school discounts. If you have the chance, please support these businesses.

Off-site at Lunch Recess
Greystone has a closed campus at lunch recess. The only exception is our Grade 9 students who are able to go to the 7-11, with parental permission, at lunchtime. All other students are expected to stay at school during breaks, unless they have permission to go to their own home for lunch, or are signed out by a parent.
Write-On Stationery
Write-On Stationery ordering is now open until July 15. If the school shipping option is chosen, orders will arrive the week of Aug 22 (with pick up tentatively Aug 24/25 from 9-2 each day). All orders are placed either online or by calling Write On directly.
