Here is our weekly update of events and information for Greystone Centennial Middle School.
May Long Weekend - No School Friday & Monday
The May Long Weekend is upon us. That means that this Friday (May 20th) is a PD Day and Monday (May 23rd) is the holiday. There is no school for students these days.
Routine Gr. 6 Immunizations: Thursday, May 26, 2022
AHS will be at Greystone on Thursday to provide second doses of HBV and HPV vaccines that were started in the fall. They will also attempt to catch up with students from grades 7-9 other students who are delayed with immunization. As always, only students with parental consent will be immunized. Field Trips
Watch for permission slips coming your way! May and June are busy months for off-site trips for our students. Students need to return their consent forms to school and pay any associated fees prior to the field trip date. Read any included information for details on what to wear, what to bring, and what activities might be happening.
Wheel Week: May 30- June 3
During the week of May 30 to June 3, students are encouraged to get active on their way to and from school. Ways that you can get to school that are self-powered are biking, inline skating, scootering, and walking. Please be safe if you choose to come to school via these methods. Follow the traffic laws, wear a helmet when on wheels, and be aware. For more information, visit the SHAPE Alberta website.
Hot Lunch - June
Ordering for June Hot Lunch will be open May 18-25 at https://greystone.hotlunches.
The schedule of suppliers for the month is:
- Friday, June 3: Bite to Eat - pancakes and breakfast sausage
- Friday, June 10: Jack's Drive-In - hot dogs and ice cream
- Friday, June 17: Pizza 73 - pepperoni, cheese, Hawaiian
- Friday, June 24: KFC - popcorn chicken, 1 or 2 piece
Try-Me Try-Athlon
PSD is putting on their Try-Me Try-Athlon again this year on June 3rd. All PSD students are invited to participate. It will be located at the Stony Plain Outdoor Pool and Stony Plain Central School. For more information and to register, please visit the Try-Me Try-Athlon website.
Bike and Scooter Safety
When students come to school on bikes or scooters, we want them to be safe. Helmets are mandatory, as per Alberta Law, for anyone under the age of 18. Helmets for scooters are highly recommended. All bikes and scooters must be locked up during the day, please use the bike/scooter racks and bring a lock. We ask all students to walk their bike/scooter in congested areas when they arrive on school property.
Wilhauk Beef Jerky FOGS Fundraiser
It's back! Time to order some delicious beef jerky and sausage from our friends at Wilhauk Beef Jerky! Orders need to be completed by June 3.

Enjoy a tasty treat, support a local business as well as FOGS and Greystone Centennial Middle School. *Pick-Up will be at Wilhauk Beef Jerky (Spruce Grove) on June 10 and 11 from 10:00-6:00
Write-On Stationery
Write-On Stationery ordering is now open until July 15. If the school shipping option is chosen, orders will arrive the week of Aug 22 (with pick up tentatively Aug 24/25 from 9-2 each day). All orders are placed either online or by calling Write On directly.
