Here is our weekly update of events and information for Greystone Centennial Middle School. 

Snowed In - THANK YOU!

A huge thank you to the families that attended Snowed In yesterday! We estimate we tripled our attendance from previous years! The addition of the musical to our grade 5/6 performances was a huge hit! Thank you again to all the families that were able to donate to FOGS raffle baskets to make some amazing prizes for this event!

Career Fair

Greystone School is planning our 2nd annual CAREER FAIR event for our grade 7-9’s on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025 (9:15-12:30). We are still looking for more volunteers in the medical field, professional athletics, trades and entertainment fields.

If you would be interested in being one of our presenters for the day please email Janie Scheidl at janie.scheidl@psd.ca with your name, career, a brief description of what you do, and a phone number at which you can be contacted.  You may also leave a message with reception in the general office.  If you are able to volunteer your time, we would be so grateful.  Refreshments will be provided.  

Closed Campus Reminder - Grades 5-8

Just a reminder that Greystone is a closed campus for grades 5-8. This means that students are required to stay at school for lunch. If you would like your child to come home for lunch, there is a permission form in the office. Please note that this form only allows your child to go home for lunch, not to stores across the road or other student's homes.

Overdue Books

During the winter break, please search at home for overdue/lost books

Classes can win a game block for having no overdues!

Archery - Repeat

Local Attendance Stat - Repeat

We had Spruce Grove Composite in to do a short presentation with our grade 9 students about the transition of high school. As in previous messages, I have shared the importance of attendance. Over the last few years, Spruce Grove Composite High School has tracked their own attendance date and tracked 3-year completion rates of high school (the expected rate for graduating within 3 years of starting high school). The correlation is extremely strong and shows how important it is to maintain an attendance rate above 90%.

In Search of Volunteers - repeat

FOGS (Friends of Greystone Society) is looking for adult volunteers to help out with pop up lunches. These lunches differ from the 'hot lunch' program, where items are sold directly in our pods rather than pre-ordered. The next date is Tuesday, January 14.
