Strike Operation Reminders

We have had a large increase of families trying to call in absences and drop off items during our non-office hours. Please follow the posted office hours from 8:30-9:30, 12:30-2:00, and 3:15-4:15 for drop offs and inquiries. Even during this time, answering phone calls is not always possible due to limited staffing.

Grade 7G and 7H FreeRice Challenge

This month, classes 7G and 7H are participating in the FreeRice challenge! For each vocabulary question answered correctly, 10 grains of rice are donated to those in need worldwide. The class that accumulates the most rice will earn a pizza party. So far, we have raised over 52,000 bowls of rice!

Pop Up Lunch Next Tuesday

Next Tuesday FOGS will be selling Nachos and Cheese for $2.50, or $5.00 to also include pop and chips! Cash only!

Grade 7 Parent Survey Reminders

In early March, I emailed the primary parent portal account of every grade 7 student with a random access code for parents to complete the annual Alberta Education Assurance Survey. This is a reminder that this survey closes next Friday, March 21. Completion is optional, but this information is extremely valuable to us to help guide our work in school development plan and professional development.

Hot Lunch Update - repeat

Below you will find the schedule for hot lunch this year.  This schedule can also be found on the GCMS website.  If you do not yet have a hot lunch account please see this document for instructions on how to get set up. 

Yearbook info for 2024-2025:

Yearbook sales are OPEN!  Go to https://ybpay.ca/lifetouch.ca and use the Yearbook ID Code: 15046925.  Cost is $30 and order deadline is June 27.

Choir Update 

1) ACC Gala:

This weekend our Senior Choir (grades 7-9) is performing at the Winspear for the ACC Gala. As a reminder, the dress rehearsal is at 11:15am, with the concert starting at 3:00pm. Students need to meet Mrs. Putt in the main lobby of Winspear, and transportation is not provided by the school. Good luck to all of our students who are performing this weekend. We are very proud of you!

2) Choral Celebration:

On Monday (March 17th) our Senior Choir will be performing at Choral Celebration. Students need to arrive at Greystone by 8:45am. The event is taking place at West Meadows Baptist Church (9333 - 199 St. NW), and parents are welcome to come watch. Transportation will be provided to and from the event. If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Putt.

3) Choir Day:

On Friday (March 21st) all of our Greystone Choirs (Grade 5/6 Concert Choir, House of Harmony, & Senior Choir) will be hosting our annual Choir Day. We have also invited Millgrove's Choir, as it is a wonderful opportunity for our younger choir students to learn about choir at Greystone, and connect with older singers. We will also be joined by Samara Bortz, who is the artistic director of the Edmonton Youth Choir. She will be audijcating the choirs, in efforts to help them prepare for the Music Festival. The event will run from 9:30am-12:45pm in the Greystone Gymnasium. Volunteers, please arrive in the Greystone Music Room by 9:15am.

4) Concert with Vocal Collective:

On Friday evening (March 21st), House of Harmony will be singing at Horizon Stage with Vocal Collective. All Students need to arrive at Horizon stage by 6:00pm with the doors opening to parents at 7:10pm, and the concert starting at 7:30pm. If you would like to buy tickets, here is the link Tickets!
